# G2 API guide

## Choose a G2 operation

Start with the object your task needs. The groups below use the current catalogue; open an endpoint to check accepted identifiers, filters, price and availability before retrieving.

### Products and categories

- [G2 category products](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/g2/category) — The products in a G2 software category, with their typical user roles, industries and market segments. Re-wired 6 Sep 2026 on the platform's own page reader (migration 195) after the listing failed.

- [G2 category directory](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/g2/category-links) — The directory of every software category on G2, 500 links per page.

- [G2 product profile](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/g2/product) — A software product's G2 profile: rating, review count, pricing plans, feature scores, alternatives, comparisons, company details and public social profiles. Contact details are never included.

- [G2 product directory](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/g2/product-links) — The directory of every product profile on G2, 500 links per page, for crawling the catalogue end to end.

### Reviews and offers

- [G2 reviews](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/g2/reviews) — Reviews of a software product, ten per page, with rating, text, date and the reviewer's role, company size and industry; filterable by stars, segment, industry, role, region and keywords.

- [G2 seller profile](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/g2/seller) — A software vendor's G2 seller profile with its product portfolio and cross-product review teasers. Re-wired 6 Sep 2026 on the platform's own page reader (migration 195) after the listing failed.

- [G2 seller products](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/g2/seller-products) — The products a software vendor lists on G2, nine per page, with ratings and review counts. Re-wired 6 Sep 2026 on the platform's own page reader (migration 195) after the listing failed.

## Check fields and collection limits

Use the endpoint’s declared parameters and returned continuation. Filters from another platform do not automatically apply here. Preserve source identifiers, URLs and warnings; a successful page does not establish complete history. Published response schemas identify whether they come from a reviewed shaper or observed response shapes.

Agents can use `get_endpoint` for the current contract and `get_docs` with topic `platforms/g2` to read this page. The [coverage guide](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/data-availability) explains nulls and partial results, and the [production guide](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/production-checklist) covers budgets and recovery.

## Endpoint reference

## g2/category

`GET /v1/g2/category`

The products in a G2 software category, with their typical user roles, industries and market segments. Re-wired 6 Sep 2026 on the platform's own page reader (migration 195) after the listing failed.

*G2 category products*

| Parameter | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `category` | yes | Category slug or the full G2 category URL — e.g. `marketing-automation` |
| `page` | no | Page of 15 products — e.g. `1` |
| `sort` | no | g2-score, popularity or satisfaction Accepted values: g2-score, popularity, satisfaction. Case, spaces, hyphens and underscores are interchangeable. — e.g. `g2-score` |
| `dry_run` | no | Read a zero-credit estimate without fetching sources, running AI, or reserving credits. Cache status is a snapshot, not a guarantee at execution. Accepted values: 1, 0, true, false. Case, spaces, hyphens and underscores are interchangeable. — e.g. `1` |

### Useful optional inputs

- `sort`: Choose the documented source ordering before paging through results. Ordering keeps the normal endpoint price and does not guarantee exhaustive results.
- `dry_run`: Read a free estimate before fetching sources or scheduling paid work. Zero credits; cache status and availability are snapshots rather than guarantees.

**Cost:** 2 credits at list price per successful uncached response; variable-cost operations may quote or settle a different charge. Confirmed uncharged or refunded failures report zero. Pending reconciliation can report credits_used:null; retain request_id and the original idempotency key.

```bash
curl "https://www.monocrawl.com/v1/g2/category?category=marketing-automation" \
  -H "x-api-key: mn_your_key_here"
```
