# Google Trends API guide

## Choose a Google Trends operation

Start with the object your task needs. The groups below use the current catalogue; open an endpoint to check accepted identifiers, filters, price and availability before retrieving.

### Other operations

- [Google Trends interest](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/google_trends/interest) — Interest over time for up to five terms on Google Trends.

- [Google Trends related](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/google_trends/related) — Related queries and topics, top and rising, for a term on Google Trends.

### Search and discovery

- [Trending searches](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/endpoints/google_trends/trending) — Trending searches, approximate volumes, timing, categories, breakdowns and up to three related articles, read from the public Trending Now page.

## Check fields and collection limits

Use the endpoint’s declared parameters and returned continuation. Filters from another platform do not automatically apply here. Preserve source identifiers, URLs and warnings; a successful page does not establish complete history. Published response schemas identify whether they come from a reviewed shaper or observed response shapes.

Agents can use `get_endpoint` for the current contract and `get_docs` with topic `platforms/google_trends` to read this page. The [coverage guide](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/data-availability) explains nulls and partial results, and the [production guide](https://www.monocrawl.com/docs/production-checklist) covers budgets and recovery.

| `location` | no | Location name; worldwide when empty — e.g. `United Kingdom` |
| `time_range` | no | Time window: 2004_present requires type=web; 2008_present requires news, youtube, images or froogle. Omit for the default window. Accepted values: past_hour, past_4_hours, past_day, past_7_days, past_30_days, past_90_days, past_12_months, past_5_years, 2004_present, 2008_present. Case, spaces, hyphens and underscores are interchangeable. — e.g. `past_12_months` |
| `type` | no | web, news, youtube, images or froogle Accepted values: web, news, youtube, images, froogle. Case, spaces, hyphens and underscores are interchangeable. — e.g. `web` |
| `dry_run` | no | Read a zero-credit estimate without fetching sources, running AI, or reserving credits. Cache status is a snapshot, not a guarantee at execution. Accepted values: 1, 0, true, false. Case, spaces, hyphens and underscores are interchangeable. — e.g. `1` |

### Useful optional inputs

- `dry_run`: Read a free estimate before fetching sources or scheduling paid work. Zero credits; cache status and availability are snapshots rather than guarantees.

**Cost:** 4 credits at list price per successful uncached response; variable-cost operations may quote or settle a different charge. Confirmed uncharged or refunded failures report zero. Pending reconciliation can report credits_used:null; retain request_id and the original idempotency key.

```bash
curl "https://www.monocrawl.com/v1/google_trends/interest?query=electric%20bikes" \
  -H "x-api-key: mn_your_key_here"
```

## google_trends/trending

`GET /v1/google_trends/trending`

Trending searches, approximate volumes, timing, categories, breakdowns and up to three related articles, read from the public Trending Now page.

*Trending searches*

| Parameter | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `location` | yes | Country or region code — e.g. `DE` |
| `hours` | no | 4, 24, 48 or 168 Accepted values: 4, 24, 48, 168. Case, spaces, hyphens and underscores are interchangeable. — e.g. `24` |
| `category` | no | Category ID or page category name — e.g. `all` |
| `status` | no | all, active or ended Accepted values: all, active, ended. Case, spaces, hyphens and underscores are interchangeable. — e.g. `all` |
| `sort` | no | relevance, volume, recency or title Accepted values: relevance, volume, recency, title. Case, spaces, hyphens and underscores are interchangeable. — e.g. `relevance` |
| `limit` | no | Whole number from 1 to 100 — e.g. `20` |

- `sort`: Choose the documented source ordering before paging through results. Ordering keeps the normal endpoint price and does not guarantee exhaustive results.
- `limit`: Bound the returned rows to what your task needs. A smaller limit does not necessarily reduce source calls or price; inspect the quote.
- `dry_run`: Read a free estimate before fetching sources or scheduling paid work. Zero credits; cache status and availability are snapshots rather than guarantees.

**Cost:** 2 credits at list price per successful uncached response; variable-cost operations may quote or settle a different charge. Confirmed uncharged or refunded failures report zero. Pending reconciliation can report credits_used:null; retain request_id and the original idempotency key.

```bash
curl "https://www.monocrawl.com/v1/google_trends/trending?location=DE" \
