Meta’s Pages API has no published price, but it is built for Pages your app manages, and reading other Pages needs Page Public Content Access. For public data, most data APIs let you start free: Monocrawl gives 1,000 credits every month, Bright Data 5,000 records a month, Apify $5 of usage a month, Thordata a 7-day trial with 5,000 credits, and SociaVault and Adyntel 50 credits each.
Can the official Facebook API read any public Page?
Only with Page Public Content Access, which needs App Review and Business Verification, and Meta says you may also need to sign contracts. Its allowed use is to analyse and display posts and engagement on Pages. Before review, an app can only read Pages whose admin also has a role on the app.
Can I get Facebook group posts through an API?
Meta removed its Groups API permissions and group app installs on 22 April 2024. Meta Content Library covers posts in public groups for approved researchers, and Monocrawl, Apify, Bright Data, Data365 and SociaVault list public group posts.
Is there an API for the Facebook Ad Library?
Yes. Meta’s Ad Library API, part of the Graph API, returns ads about social issues, elections or politics, and ads delivered to the EU. The public Ad Library website lets anyone search all active ads, and Monocrawl, Apify, Adyntel and SociaVault list Ad Library search, while Data365 lists ad post search.
Which Facebook APIs work with AI agents?
Monocrawl, Apify, Bright Data and SociaVault publish their own MCP servers, so assistants such as Claude or Cursor can call them directly. Adyntel’s MCP server covers ads.
How should I compare prices?
Units differ: a request, a result, a record and a credit are not the same size, and some calls return several posts while others return one. Price your own workload, such as a number of Pages or posts a month, with each vendor.
Method
How we compared.
What’s includedMeta’s three official routes, plus widely used data APIs that list Facebook-specific data on their own pages, publish their pricing or offer a trial, and come up across Facebook API searches and comparison lists.
What we comparedWhat each vendor publishes about its Facebook data, pricing, free allowance and access, read on its own pages. “Best” here means worth comparing, not a ranking from tests: we have not run their APIs.
