Sources and availability
Use public profile, post and search endpoints for the platforms you need. Supported competitor monitors can watch account activity and discussions; coverage varies by source.
What to keep in mind
Public metrics do not reveal revenue, conversion rates or private strategy. Build cross-competitor charts and publishing-rate comparisons in your own reporting workflow using API data or exports. Keep sources and time windows consistent; retrieved counts are not a complete measure of activity.
Questions, answered
About competitor tracking.
What can I track about a competitor?
Depending on the source, you can collect public profiles, recent posts or videos, visible engagement and relevant search results. Monitors can re-check supported targets and retain findings over time.
Can I monitor official posts separately from mentions?
Yes. An account feed follows the account’s own output, while a subject monitor searches for discussion about the name. Relationship labels provide additional context, but classifications should still be reviewed.
Does Monocrawl calculate competitor market share?
No. Public activity and engagement are inputs for your own analysis. They are not a measurement of market share, sales or advertising return.
Can I build my own competitor dashboard?
Yes. Use the API to collect supported data and monitor endpoints to read stored findings. Keep request identifiers and source links so your dashboard can trace observations back to their context.
