TikTok lookalike creators, and a second attempt for blocked pages

  • New endpoint tiktok/similar-accounts: lookalike TikTok creators for any handle, each with display name, avatar, bio, verification, privacy and follower, following, video and like counts, so no second lookup is needed. Five credits; an empty list or an unknown handle is free, and a repeat within 15 minutes is served from cache.
  • Lookalikes come from the accounts Instagram suggests for the same creator, matched to their TikTok accounts and kept when verified or above 10,000 followers. Each row says so in similar_source and instagram_handle. Send instagram_handle when the creator uses a different name there.

  • web/scrape and web/extract now make a second attempt through another network when a site refuses the first: access denied, rate limited, a verification or consent page, or an empty page. A rescued page answers in the same shape at the same price, with fetch.used set to rescue.
  • google_places/search has a backup source when its primary source refuses a request. Backup rows keep the same fields; opening hours, category ids, descriptions and images are null when the backup answers.

Optional relevance filtering with evidence you can inspect

  • Describe what matters in the existing “Only tell me if it’s actually relevant” box. The same optional filter, criteria and exclusions work for monitors created or updated through the dashboard, API and MCP; schedules continue when your agent is closed.
  • Filtered monitors and their alerts now open matching results. Each selected finding shows its saved explanation, supporting passage and source link. Viewing evidence makes no new model call; raw collection history is accessible separately.

  • Confirmed matches can be delivered while other items remain undecided. Processing errors retry saved content within existing limits; insufficient information stays visibly undecided rather than being silently rejected.
  • The dashboard inbox includes all delivered alerts with pagination, accurate unread totals and unread badges on the monitor list. Opening an alert marks it read without removing it from history.
  • Clearly equivalent article coverage is grouped while retaining each finding and source. Repeated notifications are suppressed during the cooldown; substantive new developments can alert separately. Grouping is conservative and may miss some paraphrases.

Optional overage, with a limit you control

  • Paid subscribers can now set a maximum extra spend in Billing. It starts at $0, so existing accounts keep their hard limit until they opt in.
  • Eligible API requests and scheduled endpoint checks can continue after the included allowance. Extra usage is billed monthly at the displayed plan rate, including for annual subscribers.
  • Alerts let you know when the cap is close or reached. Failed work releases its extra charge. Monthly resets, no rollover and no credit packs stay the same.

  • Monthly plans launched with a hard limit: requests and monitor checks paused until renewal or an upgrade. Optional capped overage was added on 16 September.
  • The terms now let you use, store, transform and resell results inside your own products. Sharing API keys or account access remains prohibited.

Monitors: describe it in a sentence, get a monitor

  • Write what you want to watch in plain English and the form builds the whole monitor: sources, matching rules, schedule, delivery and cost, with a review step before it goes live.
  • Every finding carries its evidence and the reason it matched. Reports lead with what changed and why it matters, and a check that finds nothing new says so.

  • Mark a finding irrelevant, known or resolved and later runs respect it. Mark one useful and it sharpens the relevance filter.
  • Alerts go to the monitor page, email, Slack, Discord, your own webhook or push notifications, immediately from a severity you choose or as a daily or weekly summary. Send a test alert before switching a monitor on.
  • The form warns when a monthly cap will not sustain the schedule, with one-click fixes: raise the cap or check less often.
  • Two new templates: bug and exploit reports for games, and audience feedback for creators. Follow an account now reads the account’s own X, Bluesky or YouTube timelines. New Google Maps reviews takes a pasted Maps link.
  • New endpoints: monitors/propose, monitors/drafts, monitors/feedback and monitors/export, with evidence exported as CSV or JSON.

Rate-limit headers, stricter parameters and billing webhooks

  • Every authenticated response carries x-ratelimit-limit, x-ratelimit-remaining and x-ratelimit-reset, plus x-concurrency-limit and x-concurrency-remaining, so a client can slow down before it hits a ceiling.
  • A query parameter an endpoint does not declare is refused with 400 INVALID_PARAMETERS before anything is charged, naming the accepted parameters and the one you probably meant.

  • No breaking changes without notice: a removed path, parameter or field is announced before it ships.
  • New billing webhooks: billing.credits_exhausted when the balance reaches zero, and billing.low_balance at a threshold you set.

  • New platforms: GitHub, YouTube, Hacker News, Bluesky, Apple Music, the App Store, Polymarket, Google News, and the link-in-bio services Linktree, Linkbio, LinkMe, Komi and Pillar.
  • Async jobs: crawl and batch-scrape jobs you poll, scheduled monitors, and cohorts for running one query across a saved set of subjects.
  • Production endpoints return live data or a cached result, and a clear error when neither is available. Sample data appears only in the sandbox and is free.
