How many reviews can I get for a Google Maps place?
Google’s Places API returns at most five reviews per place, sorted by relevance, and Monocrawl’s reviews call returns up to five of the most relevant with the place’s rating. Google’s Business Profile APIs list every review, but only for locations you manage. Apify and Bright Data list collecting all of a place’s reviews, and HasData and SearchApi page through reviews with a next-page token.
Can I store data from the Google Places API?
Only as far as Google’s terms allow. They bar pre-fetching, storing or caching Google Maps content outside Google’s services, and give copying and saving business names, addresses or user reviews as an example. Google’s service terms let you keep place IDs and cache coordinates for up to 30 days.
Do I need a Google Cloud account to use a Google Maps data API?
Not with Monocrawl: you send your Monocrawl API key and get public Google Maps data back, with no Google Cloud project and no billing account with Google. Google’s Places API needs a Cloud project with billing enabled, plus an API key or OAuth token on every request.
Which Google Maps APIs work with AI agents?
Monocrawl, Apify, Bright Data, HasData, Scrap.io, ScraperAPI and SearchApi publish their own MCP servers, so assistants such as Claude or Cursor can call them directly. Google’s Maps Grounding Lite server returns AI-generated place summaries with place IDs and map links, at $7 per 1,000 requests after 10,000 free a month.
How should I compare prices?
Units differ: a call, a result, a record, a search and a credit are not the same size, and a search can return a page of places while a place call returns one. Price your own workload, such as a number of places or reviews a month, with each vendor.

How we compared.
What’s includedGoogle’s Places API and Business Profile APIs, plus widely used Google Maps data APIs that come up across Google Maps API searches and comparison lists, return structured place data and publish their pricing or offer a trial.
What we comparedWhat each vendor publishes about its Google Maps data, pricing, free allowance and access, read on its own pages. “Best” here means worth comparing, not a ranking from tests: we have not run their APIs.
