Amazon publishes no price for its Creators API, but access needs an Associates account with at least 10 qualifying sales in the past 30 days, and Amazon has dropped the developer fees it planned for its Selling Partner API. For public product data, most data APIs let you start free: Monocrawl gives 1,000 credits every month, Bright Data 5,000 records a month, Scrape.do 1,000 credits a month, Canopy 100 requests a month and Apify $5 of usage a month. Oxylabs has a free trial of up to 2,000 results, ScraperAPI a 7-day trial with 5,000 credits and Rainforest a 100-request trial, and ScrapingBee and Decodo each start you with 1,000 free credits or requests.
What replaced the Amazon Product Advertising API?
The Creators API. Amazon says PA-API 5.0 has been deprecated and is being replaced by the Creators API, and calls to PA-API 5 now get an HTTP 403 error. Amazon says the Creators API provides the same functionality with OAuth 2.0 sign-in, but PA-API credentials don’t carry over: you register again through Associates Central, and you need at least 10 qualifying sales in the past 30 days.
Do I need an Amazon seller or Associates account to get product data?
Not with Monocrawl: you send your Monocrawl API key with an ASIN, a search term or a seller ID and get public data back, with no Amazon account and no app review. Amazon’s Creators API needs an accepted Associates account with recent qualifying sales. Its Selling Partner API is for sellers, vendors and the apps they authorise: private seller apps need a Professional selling account, and Amazon reviews each developer profile.
Can I get Amazon reviews through an API?
Yes. Monocrawl returns up to 100 reviews per call, with rating, text, date, verification and helpful votes. Bright Data’s reviews scraper and Apify’s Amazon Reviews Scraper also return review text and ratings, and Canopy’s paginated reviews need an AMAZON_COOKIE header after the first page. Oxylabs, Decodo, ScraperAPI and ScrapingBee return the reviews shown on the product page, and Keepa returns rating and review-count history.
Can I get Amazon price history through an API?
Keepa is built for it: its product data includes price history by condition, alongside sales-rank, rating and review-count history, and its tracking can push price alerts to a webhook. Monocrawl returns each Amazon product’s current price, offers and availability, and its Google Shopping price-history call returns each store’s price over time for a product, as separate endpoints on the same key.
Which Amazon APIs work with AI agents?
Monocrawl, Apify, Bright Data, Canopy, Decodo, Keepa, Oxylabs, ScraperAPI and ScrapingBee publish their own MCP servers, so assistants such as Claude or Cursor can call them directly. Amazon’s Selling Partner Connector is an MCP server for your own seller account only, through Seller Central sign-in.
