Is there an official API for App Store and Google Play reviews?
Yes, for apps you publish. Apple’s App Store Connect API reads customer reviews of your own apps and manages your responses. Google’s Play Developer API reads reviews with comments on your production apps, from the last week only, and posts replies. Neither covers other developers’ apps.
Can I get a competitor’s app reviews through an API?
Yes, through a third-party API. Monocrawl, Apify and Bright Data fetch public reviews for any app on request. AppTweak, 42matters and Appfigures serve reviews from their own databases, and AppFollow and Appbot read the competitor apps you add to their platforms.
Is there a free app review API?
Apple and Google publish no price for their APIs, which cover only your own apps; Apple’s developer membership is $99 a year and Play Console has a one-time US$25 fee. For any app, several vendors let you start free: Monocrawl gives 1,000 credits every month, Bright Data 5,000 records a month, Apify $5 of usage a month and AppFollow a free plan with limited API access. AppTweak, 42matters and Appbot offer trials.
Can I get more than a week of Google Play reviews?
Not through Google’s API, which returns only reviews created or modified in the last week; Google points to a CSV download in Play Console for older ones. Review platforms keep their own history: AppTweak’s API plans list 10 years of historical data, Appbot backfills an app’s reviews from launch and AppFollow’s Team plan lists full historical data.
Which app review APIs work with AI agents?
Monocrawl, Apify, Appbot, Appfigures, AppFollow, AppTweak and Bright Data publish their own MCP servers, so assistants such as Claude or Cursor can call them directly.
How should I compare app review API prices?
Units differ: a call, a review, a record, a credit and a hit are not the same size, and some plans also cap how many apps you can track. Price your own workload, such as a number of apps and reviews a month, with each vendor.

How we compared.
What’s includedApple’s and Google’s official review APIs, plus widely used app review and app store data APIs that come up across app review API searches and comparison lists, list App Store and Google Play data on their own pages, and publish their pricing or offer a trial.
What we comparedWhat each vendor publishes about its App Store and Google Play data, pricing, free allowance and access, read on its own pages. “Best” here means worth comparing, not a ranking from tests: we have not run their APIs.
